I love the holidays. They bring out the liitle kid in me. When it gets to be about november I can’t wait for some snow fall. When I am home I love when there is snow outside because I take my little sister out to play. If there is enough snow we try to build a snowman. We also do snow angels in the snow.

The holidays are the best time for baking. You can bake pies and cookies. I love making cut out cookies and then decorating them with different color icing. We also make chocolate chip cookies. We try to save some so my little sister has some to leave out for santa. She also leaves with a glass of milk with the cookies. I also like making a cheesecake.

Holidays are my favorite time of year. With the snow and baking. Every year I can’t wait for this time of year. It’s the best thing ever when you can play in the snow then to come in from the snow and make cookies.  I love the holidays.

Blog #25

Thanksgiving break is a well deserved break for everyone. Everyone is getting over mid-terms and are getting ready for finals. This break gives us a week to relax and get refocused on what we have to do when we come back and are stessing on getting ready for finals and getting the rest of our projects done.

During my Thanksgiving break I am going to just relax and spend time with the family. Also during the break me and my sister are going to see the Twilight saga New Moon. We are so excited to see it we have been waiting ever since we saw the first one. I will also be trying to get through the book we need to read for class.

My break will be nice. I just can’t wait to go home and relax. Then I will be ready to come back and get the semester over. Im really ready to get this semester over. I’m not that ready for this class to end but I am sure ready to have my other classes end.

Blog # 24

In class we have been learning about queer theory. And how it relates to our own lives. Queer Theory isnt just about the sexual orientation of a person. It is about going away from the norms and doing something that some people would view as strange.

Queer theory relates to my life is that when I was younger I was a big tomboy. I would do everything my brother and his friends would do. When they were going to play football I would want to play also. I would love to get dirty. I followed my brother everywhere. I wanted to be just like him. Some people would think I was a little boy because of the stuff I did.

Another way queer theory applies to my life is that I will compliment women actress. If you didnt know me that would probably think I was a lesbian. I am not I am straight and just because I like say how good a women looks in a film doesn’t mean I swing that way. I just like giving both sides of the film compliments if the women looks good I’m going to say it and if the guy looks good I’m going to say it also.

I would have to say so far in class my favorite book as been The Color Purple. This book is a really shows a women back in the early part of the 1900′s coming to be her own person and breakin away from having a man contol her. From an early age the main character was in the control of the man and that is all she know until she meets her husband’s mistress.

When Celie was 14 she was controlled by her father. He would have sex with her and then when she was pregnant, he would then take her children away from here before she even had a chance to really see them. Then when her father was through with her he then gave off to another man who really didn’t want to have anything to do with her. When she was with him she basically just cleaned the house take care of his kids and allow him to have sex with her. She didn’t know anything else until she met Shug.

When she met shug she fell in love with her. She was beautiful and everything she imagined she would be by the pictures Celie saw. She helped Shug get better and once she was better Shug told her about her travels and when she was younger. Celie would tell Shug how Mr. would beat her and how he took her sister away from her. When Shug found this out she told Mr. he needed to stop and also found out the he was hiding letters from Nettie. After Shug left and came back again to visit she told Celie that the next time she leaves she is going with. Celie ends up leaving Mr. and being able to make it on her own.
